Celebration of National Day, Confucius Day and Mid Autumn Festival in CI-UAF

On 2nd October, the Confucius Institute, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, celebrated Chinese National Day, Confucius Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Director CI at Government College Women University, Directors from Faisalabad Medical University, Mr. Umer Saeed Qadri, Ex-Treasurer UAF, and Dr. Fahd Rasul, Incharge Rotaract Club UAF, along with more than 200 students.
The program was hosted by Dr. Saddam Hussain, Dean CI-UAF, and virtually co-hosted by Dr. Zhou Changming, Chinese Dean CI-UAF.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and China. Dr. Zhou Changming then delivered a warm welcome address.
A series of captivating performances marked the celebrations:
• A Taiji fan performance, which set an inspiring tone.
• A tele-theater presentation on the life of Confucius, highlighting how his teachings continue to influence people’s lives.
• A fancy dress show, showcasing the cultural richness of different Chinese provinces.
• A memorable performance by Chinese student Li, who sang the patriotic Pakistani song “Dil Dil Pakistan, Jaan Jaan Pakistan”, which delighted the audience.
Towards the end, Dr. Saddam Hussain presented the vote of thanks, followed by remarks from Dr. Saima Akram, who appreciated the efforts of CI-UAF in promoting cultural exchange. The celebrations concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a group photo session.
